15 Easy Ways to Make Suits Part of Your WFH Wardrobe
A good suit is a terrible thing to waste.
Sometime last winter, before the world began to change in ways we’re all still wrapping our heads around, I got to see samples of M.M.’s new OrigamiTech suits, and I was immediately blown away. The machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant fabric was made for seizing the moment. The cut of the wide-legged Wesley loungers was modern, but long-flight friendly. The Colby jogger, a slimmer, ankle-length suit pant, was begging to show off a stunning pair of shoes. And the Moreland jacket, a perfectly tailored piece of workwear, looked like it could give its own Ted Talk. Before I could even try these pieces on, I was fantasizing about the places I would wear them—all the big meetings, important events, and life-changing days when this gorgeous suit would be my superhero costume.
Flash forward to now, and well…need I say more? But I can’t seem to shake my adoration for the OrigamiTech pieces, and even if I don’t have any cross-country business trips to take them on, I still find myself reaching for the pants and jacket when I need an extra boost (which is often, these days). But I rarely wear them together. Instead, I tend to mix and match the pants and the jacket with more casual pieces, deconstructing the suit in a way that works for my current reality of working from home.
Here are the 13 pieces I grab when styling my take on the deconstructed suit.

The McKenzie Sweater
When I need to feel productive but cozy (writing days—my favorite!), I go for the McKenzie in camel and the Colby joggers in olive. It’s sort of becoming my signature look.

The Rowan Flats
It’s flats all day, every day right now. But the Rowan flat in snakeskin takes every outfit to new heights.
The Sharon Top
They call it a sweat-SUIT for a reason.

The Scotte Jacket
I love the Scotte over anything, but it looks especially cool with the Wesley loungers.
The Blake Shirt
Perfect for perfecting the French tuck (yes, we’re still doing that).

The Grace Loafer
Another chic option for the Colby jogger.
The Leslie Rally T-Shirt
Because a white T-shirt always looks crisp and can be worn under the Moreland or stand on its own with the Colby jogger.

The Marcia T-Shirt
Another option on days when the only thing that makes sense is the Colby joggers and the softest T-shirt I own.
The Sophie Sweater
I’ve said it before, but after this year, every woman deserves a cashmere sweater. This one goes with black, olive, or cool charcoal, so I could wear it three days a week if I wanted to. (I do.)

The Snyder Sweater
Another favorite new sweater of mine is the Snyder. It’s kind of like a blazer, except 100% snugglier.
The Sloane Top
I can’t wear a T-shirt every day, so the Sloane top is the next best thing.

The Claressa Earrings
Whether I’m wearing a bathing suit or an OrigamiTech suit, my signature accessory is a pair of gold hoops.
