23 On-Sale Favorites to Buy Before They’re Full Price Again

This might be the easiest decision you make all week.

By Madeleine Kim

Like all good things, our biggest sale ever must come to an end—and at midnight on Monday, 12/14, sale styles currently discounted by up to 70% will turn into pumpkins become full price again. If you haven’t browsed our sale yet (or even if you have), these are the 23 fan-favorite pieces you should consider grabbing before it’s too late.

1.

The Swiss Army Knife of Dresses

The Etsuko is kind of like the Swiss army knife of dresses—it does it all. Machine-washable fabric, sleeves, deep pockets, a removable belt, and a tailored-but-not-tight fit work in tandem to create a reliable wardrobe essential you’ll wear for years to come. It’s no wonder this is our best-selling dress of all time.

2.

A Top That Does the Styling for You

Some days, just changing out of pajamas feels like a feat. So a top that makes your outfit look perfectly styled with literally zero effort is something we can very much get behind. The Nejvi top + any bottom = the easiest way to look (and feel) your best.

3.

A Dress Made for Petites

My 5’3”-and-under friends, this one’s for you. The Maaza dress was designed in response to feedback from petite customers who wanted an elevated shift dress that would hit above the knee. Try this one with sneakers and a denim jacket in the spring, and with booties and a hoodie in the winter.

4.

A Chameleon-Like Jardigan

When you don’t know what your future holds, but you do know you want some new clothes, the Merritt jardigan is a pretty safe bet. Our most chameleon-like jardigan, the Merritt adapts seamlessly to any outfit it encounters. Wear it with the included sash, or swap in a thick belt like the Beebe (finally back in stock!) for a more structured look. Or, wear it unbelted for a boyfriend blazer vibe.

5.

A Top That Epitomizes Elegance

The next time you find yourself reaching for a classic underpinning, try the Sloane top instead. Like your go-to tank top, it’s machine-washable, tuckable, and comfy as can be—but it has an elegant cowl neck that will set you apart from the crowd.

6.

A Pretty-Much-Perfect Pair of Pants

If you’ve ever impulse bought a bold statement top or brightly colored sweater with no idea how you’ll style it, you should have a pair of Mejia pants in your wardrobe. Easy to dress up or down, suitable for both tucked and untucked tops, and beautiful with most colors, these are the pants that work with all those tough-to-pair pieces in your closet.

7.

A Surprisingly Versatile Button-Down

Even if you don’t think of yourself as a “pattern person,” you’ll be surprised how often you end up wearing the 100% silk Blake shirt in atlas print. Based on old maps of NYC, the print is both subtle and incredibly interesting. Because it’s composed of light, neutral tones, it goes with most colors and even a few patterns, like plaid.

8.

A Pantone-Approved Pair of Pants

Pantone is ringing in 2021 with two colors of the year: “Ultimate Gray” and “Illuminating,” a vibrant yellow that reminds us (and The Zoe Report) of our Zhou culottes in goldenrod. These swishy, machine-washable pants are both practical and on-trend—and when you see them, you can’t help but smile.

9.

...and Some Slingbacks to Match

Looking for a more subtle way to weave cheery yellow into your rotation? The Irene slingbacks in canary are just the thing to brighten up an all-neutral outfit. It also doesn’t hurt (literally) that they’re super comfortable and supportive.

10.

A Jardigan That Doesn’t Require Compromise

You have an important meeting today—but it’s happening over Zoom. Should you wear a jacket? Or a cardigan? No need to choose. Just wear the Sant Ambroeus jardigan, which combines the structure of a jacket with the stretch of a cardigan. In ecru, it will add some lightness to your winter wardrobe.

11.

A Top That’s as Smart as it Looks

The Ava top may look like an elevated, special-occasion piece, but it has functional features—machine-washability, wrinkle-resistance, and odor-resistance—that make it suitable for everyday wear. I like to wear mine with boyfriend jeans and booties for a chic-yet-casual weekend look.

12.

A Dress Only Perfectionists Will Understand

The Sarah dress’s claim to fame (aside from being named after our Founder and CEO) is that it’s our most improved piece. Over the years, we’ve tweaked little parts of the silhouette and perfected every seam, and as of now, the Sarah dress is in its seventh (and final) iteration. This is one you don’t want to miss out on.

13.

A Skirt to Nap In

I don’t need to tell you that the Harlem skirt in ruby red is a show-stopping, crazy flattering piece—the photo has that covered. What I will say, however, is that the Harlem is one of the few skirts I would willingly wear to watch Netflix, lounge on my couch, and even take a nap in. The fabric hugs you, but not too tight, and stretches without stretching out.

14.

A Blazer You’ll Wear Forever

When we first released the Bennett blazer in Bordeaux, we couldn’t keep it in stock. And while it’s admittedly a somewhat odd time to be buying a blazer, if you are going into the office (or plan to be someday), you should really snag the Bennett while it’s on sale. Designed to fit beautifully on a wide range of body types, it features stretchy knit inserts in the seams for ease of movement, deep pockets, and beautiful covered buttons. This one is a forever piece.

15.

A Fun New Friend for Your Black Tops

The Marais pants are as close as you can get to leggings while still looking like you’re wearing real pants. They’re stretchy, smoothing, fitted, and go with everything. And in our delicious raspberry color, they’re the perfect way to breathe new life into all the black tops and sweaters sitting in your closet.

16.

A Sleek Denim-Jacket Alternative

The Neale jacket is a beautiful suiting piece, but personally, I like to wear it as a slightly more elevated alternative to my favorite denim jacket. Try it with high-waisted, wide-leg pants or over an easy dress.

17.

A Year-Round Top for Turtleneck Lovers

As someone who loves anything with a turtleneck or mock neck, I was very excited when the Lise top came on the scene. This tuckable tank top is easy to style and layer, and best of all, I can wear it all year round.

18.

A Really Nice Pair of Tights

This might just be me, but I feel like any time I put on an outfit that requires tights, every pair I own is full of snags or sitting in my laundry pile. Thus, my belief that you can never have too many pairs of black tights. Might as well stock up now while they’re on sale.

19.

A T-Shirt That Looks More Expensive Than it Is

I’ve had my Didion top for over four years and worn it hundreds of times—not that you can tell from looking at it. This elevated take on the oversized T-shirt is as durable as it is versatile, which means you’ll end up wearing it all the time. Factor in the sale price, and your cost per wear will be pennies.

20.

An All-Around Flattering Dress

The Farnoosh dress is a little bit sneaky. At first glance, it looks like a basic tailored dress, but the magic happens when you try it on. As one customer said, “I hadn’t considered this dress before, but after putting it on, I couldn’t pass it up.” It’s a sentiment shared by many, because there’s something about the Farnoosh that makes the wearer feel like the most beautiful, confident version of herself—a feature every woman deserves in her clothes.

21.

A Goes-with-Everything Sweater

Every six months or so, I clean out my closet. I donate pieces I no longer wear, I re-fold all my shirts Marie Kondo-style, and I evaluate gaps in my wardrobe. And until I owned the Graham kimono, I always felt like I was missing an easy, throw-it-on-over-everything sweater. The Graham—lightweight yet cozy and long enough to pair with most tops—filled that gap.

22.

A Patterned Skirt Even Minimalists Should Own

If you were planning to own just one pencil skirt (nothing wrong with a minimalist wardrobe), I would tell you to make it the Noho skirt in crackle. Because our crackle jacquard is composed of black, white, and gray, you can treat it like a neutral in terms of styling. It’s also made from a beautiful fabric that’s structured and smoothing, but stretchy enough that you can comfortably sit for hours.

23.

An Almost Famous Dress

As longtime M.M. customers know, the Tory dress is the piece that put us on the map back in the day after racking up a 1,000+ person waitlist. And really, it makes a lot of sense, because the Tory embodies everything that’s special about M.M. clothing. Its cut is simultaneously unique and classic; it has functional features like machine-washable fabric and lapels that can be worn two ways; and its faux-wrap construction means there’s more to it than meets the eye. If you’ve never tried this M.M. superstar, buy it today while it’s still on sale.
