Over the last few years, I’ve developed a tradition that’s just for me. Any time there’s a holiday that involves buying gifts, I get something for myself, too. Sometimes it’s lavish, like a plush cashmere sweater I’ve been coveting for months, and sometimes it’s simple, like a solo date with a glass of wine and a book at my favorite bar. No matter how big or small the gift, the tradition itself gives me something fun to look forward to every few months.
