How to Style Our Most Popular Top in Every Color

Elevated, Power Casual, and cozy pairing recommendations for four different shades of the Nejvi top.

By Emma Steinbergs

Head on over to our tops page, and you’ll find everything from silk stunners and sleek sweatshirts to boldly patterned silk tops and pima cotton tees. If you’ve been shopping M.M. since the beginning, you’ll know we’ve worked hard to get to this point. But as we continue to encourage our customers to branch out, we want to make sure that we still give those classic pieces the attention they deserve.

After all, streamlined-yet-special styles like the Nejvi top continue to be our bestsellers year after year. In fact, the Nejvi currently ranks as our #1 best-selling top. Why? Made from our Japanese-crafted Soft Wave fabric, the Nejvi top is machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant, and odor-resistant thanks to its Polygiene® finish. This means the fabric won’t hold smells, so you can wear your piece multiple times before tossing it in the washing machine, reducing water usage.

I’d say that’s grounds for a styling spotlight, wouldn’t you? Below, see our elevated, Power Casual, and cozy pairing recommendations for all four shades of the Nejvi top.

The Nejvi Top in

Black

As stain-proof and timeless as it gets, any easy-care black top is sure to be one of the most worn pieces in your closet. Style it with bold patterns, contrasting neutrals, or more black.

Elevated:
For a combination that’s subtly professorial and utterly classic, tuck your Nejvi top into the Mejia pant in plaid Italian sharkskin, and add the matching O’Hara blazer. Let your gorgeous suit shine by sticking with streamlined accessories such as the Ginger pump, Circle Buckle belt, and Claressa earring.

Power Casual:
If you love the checkered look but tailored suiting isn’t your vibe, try pairing your top with relaxed-yet-luxe pieces like the gingham Allison anorak and vegan leather Archie pant. Again, let the pattern do the talking, and match your footwear back to the black base of your outfit. The Rowan flat will do the trick.

Cozy:
The great thing about the Nejvi top is that it has the appearance of a blouse but functions like a T-shirt. It’s breathable, machine-washable, and unrestrictive, so you don’t need to change before making dinner or winding down on the couch after work. Just swap your tailored trousers for a super-stretchy option, like the Finley pant, and slide into some fuzzy footwear.

The Nejvi Top in

Alabaster

Does wearing white fill you with worry? From one klutz to another, our machine-washable soft wave material was made for us. As the weather cools, our stylists recommend wearing the Nejvi in alabaster with rich neutrals.

Elevated:
Our latest pseudo-neutral hue, forest, is a very dark green that’s especially elegant in contrast with light neutrals like your alabaster top. For maximum drama, pair the double-breasted Kati jacket with the subtly-flared Horton pant. To add texture to your elegant, elongating ensemble, go with the snakeskin-embossed Ginger pump and Single Bezel earring.

Power Casual:
If you love the Nejvi for its highly polished appearance and slightly relaxed fit, you’ll be pleased to find that the Smith pant features these same qualities. Opt for the camel color, and complete your chic tonal palette with the chunky, multi-toned Lygia necklace and a white leather sneaker.

Cozy:
Downtime doesn’t mean you have to look drab. Upgrade from sweats to something more sophisticated like this stretchy set: the Sierra shacket and Robin pant in haze. Shoes are optional, but if you want to stick with the slightly sporty aesthetic, simply add the Koio Elba slide.

The Nejvi Top in

Blossom

Even if you’re not a pink person, you might become one for blossom. Its soft, muted tone means you can wear it year-round with both warm and cool tones alike.

The blossom version of the Nejvi top is made from our Eco Soft Wave fabric, which is composed of 35% recycled materials.

Elevated:
Blossom and ash create an interesting juxtaposition you’ll want to wear again and again. The delicate, floral Nejvi top + the dusty gray-brown Harlem skirt = a delightfully unexpected combination. Tie everything together with the Yuna earring, which features a brown gradient, and the Irene slingback, which coordinates with the rest of your earthy tones.

Power Casual:
I mentioned that blossom works just as well with cool tones, and this outfit proves it. Commit to grays with the Milo jean in cool charcoal, Koio Capri sneaker in smoke, and Lyssa earring in silver. Pretty cool, right?

Cozy:
We thought blossom couldn’t get any better, but cashmere makes everything better. Cream cashmere joggers instantly reframe your office-appropriate top as relaxation-ready. How about some slippers while we’re at it? Now you’re in head-to-toe heaven.

The Nejvi Top in

Aloe

Aloe is hard to put into words, but this dusty gray-green top is easy on the eyes. Pair it with neutrals ranging light to dark, or go all out in a head-to-toe set.

The aloe version of the Nejvi top is made from our Eco Soft Wave fabric, which is composed of 35% recycled materials.

Elevated:
Running out of ways to style that black suit you wear on repeat? Don’t forget, the options are endless—that’s why you bought it! The Nejvi top in aloe is a unique underpinning option if you want to shake up your Yiyan blazer and Cobble Hill skirt. Seal the deal with silver accessories like the sexy Ella sandal plus the artistic Herma necklace.

Power Casual:
For an outfit that’s as soothing as aloe vera itself, combine your top with the Zhou culotte to form a matching aloe set. Finish off this cool-girl monochromatic look with on-trend accessories like crisp white sneakers and shiny gold hoops.

Cozy:
Long day? Once you get home, slip on the Addison jogger, and order your favorite takeout. You deserve it!
