Lower Your Wardrobe’s Price Per Wear with These Six Sale Styles
Prioritizing long-term value over price will ultimately make your money go further—here’s why.
If you want to set your wardrobe up for long-term success, it helps to consider not only price, but value. Both are important factors in deciding which pieces to purchase, and you should never overextend your clothing budget just because a piece has potential. But if you have the luxury to do so, prioritizing long-term value over price will ultimately make your money go further.
The metric we use to calculate long-term value is price per wear. The equation is simple: price per wear = the price of an item divided by the number of times you wear it. The lower the price per wear, the higher the value.
I’ll spare you the grade school-style word-problem examples, because I think you get the picture. Before you buy a cheaply made, cheaply priced fast-fashion piece, think about how many wears you’ll realistically get from it. And if you can, invest in versatile, comfortable, well-crafted pieces that you plan to wear for years.
Even better, of course, are those times when you can get beautifully made, timeless investment pieces at a discount—thus lowering your price per wear even further. As it happens, now is one of those times. Not only are we having a great sale, but for just one more day, you can save an extra 20-30% on already discounted styles. Here’s how it works:
- Save an extra 20% with code EXTRA20 when you spend $200+ on sale styles.
- Save an extra 30% with code EXTRA30 when you spend $300+ on sale styles.
Wondering where to start? Below are six on-sale styles you’re sure to wear on repeat this summer and beyond.
Note: All prices in this article assume that you’ve used our extra 30% off discount code. Price per wear calculations assume you’ll wear the item once per week for five years.

1. The Nia Jacket
A lightweight, polished jacket specifically designed for travel—so you don’t have to waste suitcase space on a steamer.
Same goes for the matching, elastic-waist Colby pants: wear them en route and emerge from the plane wrinkle-free. The Nia jacket features a slightly cropped hemline, so it’s also a great match for A-line dresses like the Malala. Prefer a more fashion-forward look? Try the flared Shiloh pants (bonus: they feel like wearing sweatpants).
2. The Evie Top
The chic and cooling top you’ll reach for over and over when it’s hot outside.
In the height of summer, wearing the Evie top with the matching Sasha shorts is the next best thing to being in a pool. Prefer more coverage? Reach for the Madelyn pants, which offer sun protection without adding heat, or the Sammataro jeans, made from Turkish two-way stretch cotton.
3. The Milo Jeans
Jeans that automatically make you look stylish—with none of the stiffness or discomfort you usually associate with denim.
For an elevated take on the classic jeans-and-T-shirt look, pair the Milos with the Leslie T-shirt, made from soft and substantial Peruvian pima cotton. The wide-leg cut is also an excellent pairing for the fitted (and reversible) Meg top, made from ultra-luxurious Japanese silk jersey. Looking for a more formal outfit? Enter the super-sleek Tatum top in rich silk charmeuse (you’d never guess by looking at it, but it’s machine-washable).
4. The Aubry Top
Beautiful, meticulously constructed, and versatile, this is the Champagne of tank tops. No wonder you can’t visit the M.M.LaFleur office without seeing at least one person wearing it.
For an easy, wear-anywhere summer outfit, tuck it into the kick-crop Archie jeans, made from stretchy Better Than Denim. Or you could lean into Earth tones by pairing it with the cigarette-style Foster pants in saddle, a rich camel hue. Of course, the Aubry top can also serve as an underpinning in business casual outfits and looks great with suits, like the Mejia pants and Gaia jacket.
5. The Nejvi Top
The ultimate no-styling-necessary top, made from machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant, odor-resistant fabric.
The best test of a no-styling-necessary top? Pair it with leggings and see if your outfit looks put-together (admittedly, using the Stella leggings is kind of cheating, because they’re way more polished than athleisure). For a formal look, the Nejvi top also looks great with wide-leg trousers like the Horton pants. And for special occasions, the top’s gathered waist makes it ideal for tucking into skirts like the Astor.
6. The Mejia Pants
Classic, straight-leg trousers in a light neutral that’s just right for summer.
In terms of styling, it’s tough to go wrong. For a tonal Power Casual look, dress your trousers down with the pima cotton Leslie T-shirt in pebble, and finish the outfit with sneakers or slides. Alternatively, make the outfit business casual by swapping your tee for an elegantly draped silk-jersey top like the Monica. Need another layer? The Sant Ambroueus jardigan—stretchy, structured, and polished—is just the thing.
