Why Every Woman Needs A Jardigan

October 04, 2019 | Filed in: Your Closet

In this day and age, it seems almost callous to say that every woman needs to own something. After all, we’re advertised to on every platform possible and are already drowning in so much stuff that we watch television shows about how to declutter and find joy in minimalism.

So, I apologize in advance for what I am about to say. But truly, sincerely, every woman needs to own a jardigan. Obviously, I’m biased (I work for M.M.!), but also, I am not the type of person who would sell you something you don’t need. And readers, you need a jardigan. I’m sorry, but it’s true.

My primary argument is this: The office—nay, the world—was not built for women. Office temperatures fluctuate at the whims of men’s body heat, not ours. Men can show up to meetings in sweatshirts and flip flops and sign million dollar deals, while society still expects women to fit into a very narrow definition of professionalism. And looking “professional” every day can take a lot of time and energy. A jardigan solves for all of this and more.

A jardigan can live on the back of your desk chair to be flung over your shoulders the minute the air conditioning dips below 70. It’s wrinkle-resistant, so it can be shoved in a carry-on on a chilly plane ride, as well. It makes a t-shirt look more formal. It doesn’t require a lot of effort. Basically, what I’m saying is it’s the professional woman’s hoodie. Also, it comes in a variety of colors, lengths, and styles, and looks great on everyone. There’s no excuse.

So get a jardigan. Get a woman you love a jardigan. And spread the message far and wide. It’s is the only piece of clothing every woman needs to own. Well, that and a good pair of pants

Points for the Jardigan:

Easy Structure

The jardigan is built like a blazer but is comfy like a cardigan (hence why we call it a jardigan!)

Removable Shoulder Pads

Want a little extra oomph? You can elevate your look by adding a couple inches to your frame, or keep it casual by leaving the shoulder pads at home.

Overall Stretch

Yes, the jardigan is stretchy. That’s our favorite thing about it! It moves with you while keeping its shape, which means it always looks polished and put together.

Waist-Defining Sash

Some cardigans can look a little too slouchy. Not this one. You can cinch it up or leave it open, depending on your day.

Wrinkle-Resistant

The jardigan is made to be your go-to. Throw it in your work bag, or keep it on your desk chair for last-minute meetings.
