10 Cozy Pieces to Wear When Working from Home
As working from home becomes the new normal (for now), we’re adopting a uniform of cozy-but-professional pieces.
In the age of coronavirus, figuring out what to wear is probably not your top concern—but it may be a concern. Our normal work days have been replaced with video meetings and Slack correspondence, and our co-workers have been replaced by our pets / children / partners / roommates.
As we do our best to stay both comfortable and professional through it all, these are the 10 pieces we’re living in for the foreseeable future.
The Morandi Sweater
There’s a reason this M.M. legend is known as a “wearable hug,” and isn’t that what we all need right now? In the past, the Morandi has been our travel buddy and go-to desk sweater. Now, it’s the ultimate WFH comfort piece—ideal for when you’re tempted to stay in your bathrobe all day, but need to put on actual clothes.

The Merritt Jardigan
Just because you’re working from home doesn’t mean you won’t need to dress up occasionally. Many of our customers are still giving virtual presentations, attending video meetings, and even being interviewed for TV. When you need to look sharp but still feel cozy, there’s nothing better than the Merritt jardigan (or any jardigan, really).
The Deneuve Top
The nice thing about WFH outfits is that you can cheat. As long as you look polished on top, no one needs to know that you’re wearing sweatpants and shark slippers on the bottom. The Deneuve is one of those one-and-done pieces: Throw it on, and you’ll feel instantly transformed and ready to Zoom with your team.
The Rowling Top
Juggling conference calls while also entertaining your kids at home? Don’t waste energy stressing about your outfit—just slip into the Rowling top. It looks polished enough to FaceTime with your clients, but if your three-year-old gets paint on it, you don’t have to stress (it’s washable).
The Peggy Top
We’ve always said this M.M. staple goes with everything, but now we’re putting that to the ultimate test. Sure, it looks great with a suit or a pencil skirt, but does it also complement your flannel pajama bottoms? Your secret leopard leggings? Those weird harem pants that have been in the back of your closet for 10 years? Now’s the time to find out.
The Graham Kimono
Feel like you’ve been glued to your couch for days? Break up the monotony with a little glamour. The Graham Kimono is super comfortable, but thanks to its silky texture and slinky draping, it will remind you that you are exceptionally elegant—even if your dog is the only one there to witness it.
The Hockley Pant
The Hockley pant is the remote worker’s dream: structured but stretchy, chic but comfy. Slip these on to feel put-together for your morning conference call. And if your day devolves into an afternoon nap, they work for that too.
The Oshima Pant
If you’re tempted to go full athleisure but want to maintain an air of professionalism, choose the Oshima. This pant is sleek and tailored, but it’s also conducive to a midday down-dog or jumping jack, if the inspiration strikes.
The Plisse Scarf
Unexpected incoming FaceTime from your boss? Throw on the Plisse scarf and look instantly put together, even if you feel anything but. Accessories are the best way to mix up your look, even if you’re essentially wearing the same thing day after day.
Cashmere Socks
No justification needed. If there was ever a time for cashmere socks, this is it. Treat your feet right—and stay cozy and safe, wherever you are.
