How a Stylish Mother-Daughter Duo Is Wearing Our Fall Collection
Alison Bruhn and Delia Folk of The Style That Binds Us show off their favorite outfits of the season.
Alison Bruhn and Delia Folk, the mother-daughter co-founders of The Style That Binds Us, describe themselves as a “confidence company.” “We are on a mission to advance and empower women, and we want everyone to live their most stylish and fearless life,” says Delia, who is Alison’s daughter. In addition to one-on-one personal styling, they offer digital styling courses in topics like color analysis, personal branding, and more. As a company that regularly dresses women of all ages, we love seeing how Alison and Delia share style similarities while also making each look their own.
Alison has been a personal stylist for over a decade, and Delia is a former buyer for Barneys. Both have dedicated their careers to helping women harness the power of style to thrive at work. “We partner with corporations to elevate and enhance their employees’ professional image and executive presence,” explains Delia. “When the employees are more confident, they show up ready to go with their A-game and it differentiates the firm. They get more clients. They close bigger deals. Their bottom line is stronger, but it also helps the employees make higher salaries and bonuses.”
In celebration of our fall collection, we invited Alison and Delia to style their favorite pieces from our latest drop. Read on to see the looks they selected, photographed in our beautiful Upper West Side store.

Power Outfits
One common thread between Alison and Delia’s style? They both love a good power outfit. “I love the Frankie trench so much,” says Alison. “I draped it over my shoulders—they call that the ‘Vogue-editor look.’ I wore it with the Angel dress and pumps to a big gala last week, and it was perfect, because it was super comfortable and understated, but also dramatic. You could really style that coat in 100 different ways.”
For her eye-catching outfit, Delia went for a suit. “When I turned 30 a few years ago, all I wanted to do was dress like a total boss, everywhere I went” she shares. “Fall 2024 is all about the power suit, and the fabulous O’Hara blazer and Horton pants immediately caught my eye. This was my first time trying on the Horton pants, and they’re so flattering and elongating—I love the look. I decided to wear the blazer as a top, but you could also put a turtleneck or silk cami under it.”
Elegance Meets Edge
Growing up with Alison as a mother, Delia learned plenty of style lessons along the way. “One of the things that I’ve said to Delia over and over and over again is that you don’t have to have one specific style, especially not for your whole life,” says Alison. “So Delia’s style represents different facets of her personality—and she loves to be a rock star, and then be a boss.” For this outfit, Delia brought a rock-and-roll twist to the elegant Nene dress with a leather jacket and combat boots.
Alison describes her own personal style as clean, chic, and simple, making the Valencia dress a perfect match for her. “I just love that dress,” she says. “It’s very figure fitting, but not tight, and it has an old Hollywood glamour type of look.” Here, she paired it with Manolo Blahnik pumps and silver statement earrings.
Little Black Dresses
Everyone needs a great little black dress in their life. The only question is: Which LBD is the right one for you? For Alison, the A-line Angel dress hit all the marks. “I wear a lot of black with some pops of color,” she explains. In this look, she paired the Angel dress with leopard-print shoes and statement earrings, which she says is a great way to easily elevate your outfits on a budget.
Delia went with the chic (and secretly stretchy) Ashtin dress in plaid. “Mom came up with the idea to throw in a pop of color with the red bag, and I added this fun ring,” she says. “If I worked somewhere like a bank or a consulting firm, my number one goal would be to show up looking like this every single day and be known as an extremely stylish business woman in charge.”
