The Best Color Pairings for 7 Different T-Shirts
From chic lounge looks to polished Power Casual ensembles.
I wear T-shirts so often that every few months, I need to go through my drawers and assess the situation. How many black tanks do I have and, more importantly, which ones do I actually wear? Is it time to admit that, after two washes and a spot treatment, the blueberry pie stain on my favorite white crew neck isn’t coming out? And then, after I’ve made some room, which styles and colors do I feel like I’m missing?
Not surprisingly, when I saw all our newest styles and colors, I knew I had to do a T-shirt cleanout ASAP. I need to clear some space for the Toni top in huckleberry and the Asher in sunset. Plus, maybe the Cameron in gray melange. And definitely the Axam in martini.

Minty Green
I’m going to pick up the Owen T-shirt in our minty, misty green and pair it with the not-quite-black Hockley jean in Hemlock. The Koio sneakers will make the colors pop, and the Leora earrings are icing on the cake.
Grey Melange
I love a monochrome moment, especially when it’s a sleek tank under a structured blazer. The Cameron in gray melange feels soft and feminine under the slightly oversized Gaia jacket. The FRAME Le High Skinny Crop jean balances out the look, and the Koio in smoke and/or the silver Celia earrings bring it all back to gray. Of course, if I wanted to mix things up, I could sub in a bright blue above-the-knee skirt or a pair of bold, expertly-tailored pants.
Huckleberry
Huckleberry is one of my new favorite colors, so excuse me if I wear it from head to toe. I’m all about the power-casual combo of the Toni top French-tucked into the matching Joni jogger, with the Lana boot in a similarly-hued burgundy. And if I want the three-piece sweatsuit look, I can always throw on the Shae hoodie to match.
Sunset
There’s something about red that just changes the whole vibe of an outfit. The unexpected coupling of the long-sleeved Asher top in sunset with an otherwise all-white/cream ensemble—like the Caitlin shorts in biscotti or the Hockley jean in tusk with the Shae hoodie in pearl—creates a whole mood.
Deep Sea
Ever since we launched the Para sweatshirt in deep sea, this broody, sophisticated color has been a fan favorite. I’m so excited to have deep sea in new styles and fabrications—especially the pima-cotton Alina tee—and I plan on wearing it with everything from linen shorts to silky skirts. As an underpinning for the Curie pant in dark navy and Anna jacket in ink, the Alina in deep sea creates an almost-but-not-quite monochromatic suit that looks both cool and unexpected—just the way I like it.
Carob
On the warmer side of things, carob is a nutty brown shade that I’m pretty sure looks great on everyone. I plan on wearing my Leslie T-shirt with the Curie pants in a neutral, khaki-inspired saddle. I’ll mix the look up a bit with a pair of Rowan flats in snakeskin.
Martini
There are some days/nights that call for a big, fun statement, and nothing makes a splash quite like our newest shade, martini. The Axam turtleneck in martini is especially head-turning when tucked into the Orchard skirt in dijon, and a pair of classic heels and a matching belt add an extra bit of polish (not that I’ll need it).
