How to Shop Our Biggest Sale Like an M.M. Employee

We’re currently having our biggest sale ever, which, if you’re ready for some retail therapy, is very exciting. But it can also be a little overwhelming. Luckily, I know a whole bunch of people who know everything there is to know about M.M. products and can tell you exactly which pieces you should snag from our sale. I’m talking, of course, about M.M. employees. Here are 15 under-the-radar employee favorites you should buy before they’re full price again.
A Dress for All Stages of Life
Back when we were going into the office, you could expect to see at least three M.M. employees wearing the Doris dress on any given day. It’s one of those pieces that works on everyone (even if you’re nine months pregnant) but looks totally different depending on how you accessorize. I like to pair mine with knit booties and big earrings, but it also looks great with pumps and a blazer.
A Quintessential Cardigan
I don’t know when it happened, but one day, cardigans just became cool again. If you’re ready to up your cardigan game (cardigame?), start with the Emerson—the quintessential everyday cardigan, complete with elegant ribbing. I wear mine without a shirt underneath—scandalous, I know—but it also works well layered over something like the Peggy top.
An Effortlessly Chic Sweater
I swear I’m not trying to be dramatic, but I don’t know how I made it through three years in NYC without the Hamilton sweater. When I have somewhere to be but don’t know what to wear, I just toss the Hamilton over a black tank top and jeans, and I look chic—but also like I didn’t try too hard. I’ve worn my Hamilton sweater countless times, and it’s even seen the light of day during quarantine (I wore it to dine outside just last week!).
A Pencil Skirt with Secrets
I won’t lie to you: The Crosby, at its core, is your standard pencil skirt, and the things that make it special aren’t things you can see. For instance, you wouldn’t know just by looking at it that it has a little extra room built into the hips to accommodate curves, or that it’s made from a magical fabric called textured ponte that stretches and smoothes at the same time. Guess who does know all those things? M.M.LaFleur employees—which is why this skirt is a longtime team favorite.
A Not-So-Basic Tank
The Ronda top is easy to scroll past at first, but if you’ve tried it on, you know it’s more than just your average tank top. It has a relaxed yet flattering cut, it can be worn tucked or untucked, and it has barely-there stripes that give it that extra something special.

If I were going to write a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-style novel about one M.M. piece, it would be the Jane dress. Petite or tall, heart-shaped or pear-shaped, Pisces or Capricorn—it looks good on everyone. Go for classic black, or try Klein blue when you need a little mood boost.
A Knit Top to Live in
Much like Annie’s mac & cheese, the Giulia top is simple, but effective. A slight mockneck, tunic length, and side slits give it a bit of edge over your other tank tops. Wear it over skinny pants, tucked into a stretchy skirt, or layered under a sweater—you really can’t go wrong.
A 100% Merino Wool Hug
Things I miss about working in an actual office include: my coworkers’ real live faces, office snacks, and long rows of Morandi sweaters draped over the backs of desk chairs. This machine-washable wrap sweater is warm and cozy as can be, but because it’s made from 100% Merino wool, it’s also incredibly breathable. I almost feel guilty admitting this, but during quarantine, I’ve been treating my Tinsley trousers like sweatpants—by which I mean I wear them to read on the couch, to walk the dog, and for other not-so-elevated activities. Before you judge me: Have you felt our light twill fabric? Because it feels like fancy pajamas. A Skirt You’ll Wear a Million Times
Speaking of things that feel like pajamas, I can’t believe my beloved Soho skirt is only $70 right now! This is one of the first M.M. pieces I ever got, and it’s been in my regular rotation for the past four years. My favorite way to wear it is with the Choe top and some sneakers, but I’ve also seen several coworkers wear it with the Didion top half-tucked—a look that’s high on my “to-try” list.
A Pair of Pants That Adapts
The Anderson pant is the type of piece that looks great—but different—on everyone. When someone would show up to the M.M. office wearing the Anderson back in the (pre-Covid) days, they’d invariably hear, “Those are the Andersons?! They look AMAZING on you.”

People who love the Townsend top love the Townsend top (I’m pretty sure one of my coworkers owns it in every color). And really, what’s not to love? It’s comfy and relaxed like a T-shirt, it has a crisp V-neck, and it’s machine-washable. In our modern pinstripe print, it offers a slightly more elevated take on your go-to tee.

Yes, the Melissa is a dress. But did you know that you can also wear it as a jacket? This hidden gem is famous among our styling team for its ability to adapt to any outfit it encounters. Need to be ready in seconds flat? Grab the Melissa and some matching shoes, and you’re ready to go. Need a light layer over your jeans and sweater? A Jumpsuit That Applauds Your Lazy Days
I don’t think I realized I needed a jumpsuit in my life until we released the Demi. Yes, it’s a show-stopping piece on its own (and when in-person gatherings are a thing again, I have big plans to wear it with red lipstick and a high ponytail)—but it’s also a useful layering piece for days when I can’t be bothered to choose an outfit.
