On the day after the 2016 presidential election, we sent an email to the M.M. community calling for conversation among women and asking for your input on how we could best support you. Within 48 hours, we had received over 1,100 replies from all sides of the political spectrum—poignant, thoughtful replies that gave us hope for the future.

One of the most common themes we heard from you was the need to support more women running for office. Did you know that out of all of the elected offices in the U.S., only about 27%* are held by women?

As we head into Primary Season, we want to do our small part in supporting female candidates. One of the ways in which we’ve been able to do this in the past is by dressing women for the campaign trail. Over the past few years, we have dressed candidates ranging from Cynthia Nixon to Representative Stephanie Murphy. This spring, we’re taking things a step further by lending our clothes, for free, to any woman who is running for public office—whether it be for the House of Representatives or your town council. If you would like to take us up on this offer, please complete this survey to apply. We never purport that clothes help move the needle on female representation, but we want to do our part to make things a tiny bit easier. As one candidate said, “Wearing your clothes gave me one less thing to worry about and the ability to focus on delivering my message.”
