7 Pieces Inspired by Customer Reviews

Our most treasured source of design inspiration is you—our customers.

By Madeleine Kim

Inspiration can come from anywhere, and you may be surprised by the origin stories of some M.M. pieces. We’ve designed jackets inspired by works of art, sweaters dreamed up during a day at the beach, and hoodies that nod to the cities we’ve visited. But our most treasured source of inspiration is you—our customers. Our team always has an ear to the ground to figure out which fabrics, silhouettes, and colors you’re loving, and we often use your feedback to decide what we should design next.

Here are seven recent examples of pieces we created with help from our customers.

1.

The Jillian Dress

You told us that you loved the elegant shape, easy-care fabric, and lightweight feel of the Nejvi top—and you wished it came in dress form, too. Our response? The Jillian dress.

2.

The Asher T-Shirt

Two requests we hear over and over: more V-necks and more long sleeves. And when you told us that you wanted even more buttery pima-cotton T-shirt styles, designing the Asher was a no-brainer.

3.

The Curie Pants

You asked for more petite-friendly and more tall-friendly pant options. So, we decided to try something new and release a style we really believe in—the Curie pant—in two inseam-length options.

4.

The Sammataro Jeans

Speaking of the Curie pants, you also shared that you loved their super-fitted shape. Combine that with your request for more pants in our stretchy Better Than Denim fabric, and you’ve got the Sammataro jean—also available in two inseam lengths.

5.

The Darcy Top

This one’s simple: You adored the Beverly top, and you wanted another one—but with sleeves. So, we created the Darcy top, in washable silk charmeuse for an extra elevated touch.

6.

The Hyo Jacket

You told us you liked the fashion-forward vibe of a boyfriend blazer but the waist definition of a classic, tailored blazer. We designed the Hyo jacket to give you both: An adjustable drawstring in the waist offsets the slightly oversized silhouette and allows you to choose how much definition you want.

7.

Bags in Progress

For years, you’ve been sharing your hopes and dreams for an M.M. bag—and we’ve been taking notes. The styles we chose for our collaboration with Bags in Progress are a direct reflection of your requests, which boil down to some sentiments we can all get behind: easy to carry, super organized on the inside, and sleek on the outside.
