Introducing MM.LaPurr, a Business Cat-sual Line for Professional Felines

March 29, 2018 | Filed in: Your Brain

When MM.LaFleur was founded five years ago, our small-but-mighty collection consisted of just seven dresses. Since then, we’ve expanded into separates, knits, maternity-friendly pieces, extended sizes, accessories, and shoes. Our stylists field all manner of requests, and our design team is hard at work conceptualizing our Next Big Thing. But, we’re too excited about our latest initiative to keep quiet any longer.

Announcing: MM.LaPurr. It’s a well-documented fact that felines have long been fans of our Bento Boxes. Not to mention, the MM team has a fiercely vocal cohort of self-identified “cat people”—so much so that one of our designers decided to experiment with a feline-friendly version of our fan-favorite Morandi sweater. Turns out, the Morandi was made for cats: The tie at the waist allows her to slip the sweater on and off with ease, and the wool is thick enough to withstand her cat’s penchant for “kneading” anything soft.

Cookie wears the Morandi sweater in mouse gray.

This set our creative wheels in motion: What other MM staples can be optimized for our kitters? Cat apparel is already a crowded market, so we’re aiming to make a dent in a lesser-known space: business cat-sual clothing. While many details are still TBD, the collection is sure to include apparel (think: tailored blazers that can be slipped on easily over paws) as well as accessories (office-appropriate brushes, refined collars, and machine-washable harnesses).

The MM.LaPurr collection will be available exclusively via our Bento Box program, so that each customer (catsomer?) can use the box as a nest after deciding what to keep. The first 50 cats who sign up will be profiled in an upcoming M Dash feature called “Cats of Purpose: Better Things to Chew.”

The Morandi is paw-approved.
