Meet 2025’s “It” Pant Silhouette

Plus, five ways I’m wearing our newest neutral.

By Emma Steinbergs

While I’m no Anna Wintour, I hereby declare the kick flare 2025’s “it” pant silhouette. I bought my first pair back in April of last year and actually felt a little late to the game, but as it turns out, their popularity has only increased in the 10 months since. It’s no coincidence that Kendrick Lamar’s now-famous Celine jeans featured a boot cut (the kick flare’s full-length sister)!

Why exactly are kick flare styles all the rage right now? I think the answer is three-fold:

  1. They’re universally flattering. The gradual widening from knee to ankle balances out your top half—creating a proportionate shape, no matter your shape.
  2. Their slight crop hits at that perfect ankle spot, making them super easy to wear. Read: They get along with nearly any type of shoe.
  3. They give outfits that otherwise blend in an infusion of playfulness and personality, without looking like costumey bell bottoms.

If kick flares are so ubiquitous right now, you might wonder why you shouldn’t just buy a $50 fast-fashion pair—or that viral $800 version if you can afford it—and call it a day. Well, I’ll tell you! Cheap ones will fall apart given how much you’ll wear such a versatile pant (not to mention fast fashion’s negative impact on the planet). And as far as the expensive ones go, I’m not sure what could possibly warrant such a price on a pair of ponte pants (plus, they’re dry-clean-only)… Enter: M.M.’s
Kick Flare Foster pants. In addition to their sweet spot of a price point, they hold their shape like no other and are incomparably comfortable. They’re also made from the exact same material as our first pant—ever—so it’s safe to say they hold up over time.

Go ahead and grab your size while it’s still in stock, and while you’re at it, notice the newly released olive version! Despite being a bonafide neutral, I know green isn’t always intuitive to style, so I put together some styling inspo below. Scroll to see five of my favorite ways to wear my olive green Kick Flare Fosters.

Outfit #1: Dressed in Seconds

This first outfit is intentionally super simple and straight-forward, because I wanted to illustrate how the pant’s flared shape operates as a built-in styling element of sorts. The only ingredients you really need to form a polished, ready-in-five outfit is a streamlined top, a great pair of coordinating loafers, and some go-to hoops. Boom. Done.

Outfit #2: Creative Business-Casual

No, the colorful flecks in our new sharkskin Tyner blazer won’t perfectly match back to your Kick Flare Fosters—and that’s okay. In fact, being able to put together such a non-obvious pairing says you have a discerning eye and a particularly sophisticated sense of style! To make this palette work, just be sure to create a blank canvas with an ivory underpinning such as the Brooke top. The resulting look is textured and nuanced, classic from afar and extra-special up close. Ground it with some pointed-toe shoes and pearl earrings that match back to your top, and you’re ready to attract compliments at the office.

Outfit #3: A Pseudo-Suit

If you like the look of a suit and the feel of loungewear (who doesn’t?!), create a suit with your Kick Flare Fosters and the coordinating Moreland jacket. I say “coordinating” because the jacket is made from a different material, OrigamiTech, but comes in the same shade of olive as your pants. This is ideal if you want something that’s slightly less formal than a traditional suit. To keep things just a tad casual, complement your pseudo-suit with the Clemens shirt, which looks like a quintessential button-down but is made from an innovative poplin knit. For added dimension, emphasize olive green’s earthiness with a pair of espresso-colored pumps and a warm gold necklace.

Outfit #4: Destined for Date Night

I would be remiss if I didn’t give you a date night look on Valentine’s Day! I actually kind of hate this holiday—overpriced prix fixe menus make me cranky—so I’ll be staying in tonight… But the next time my partner and I step out for a romantic dinner, you can bet I’ll zhuzh up my Kick Flare Fosters with the Mira top half buttoned up over a lace camisole. To further evening-ify this look, I’ll add sparkly earrings and a pair of embellished mules.

Outfit #5: Weekend-Ready

The Kick Flare Fosters’ stretch makes them gloriously comfortable and, therefore, conducive to off-duty activities of all sorts. For a Saturday bopping around the city, I might pair them with the Kane jacket—which is similarly (secretly) stretchy—one of my softest T-shirts, and a pair of stylish sneakers.
