Workwear Styling Spotlight: The Navy Blazer
4 non-boring ways to wear a classic navy blazer to the office.
The start of 2025 brought with it a fresh wave of return-to-office orders, leaving many navigating new schedules and rethinking their routines. It’s not hard to glean what this might mean for your wardrobe: If you’re required to be in the office five days a week, you’re also required to dress for the office five days a week. And unless you work in an extremely casual or extremely formal environment, it can be tricky to pull together outfits that strike the right balance of the two.
When in doubt, I always return to classic pieces, and today, I’m highlighting a true staple: the navy Yiyan blazer—my go-to when I want something that really feels timeless. I love the polished look of the wool twill fabric and the chic covered button, but what really gets me is the fact that it has stretchy knit panels sewn into the back seams. As someone who gets claustrophobic when something is even slightly too tight in the shoulders, I find this extra stretch game-changing.
I used to worry that by wearing “classic” styles, I’d end up looking like everyone else, but I’m pleased to report that I was wrong. In fact, finding fresh ways to zhuzh up tried-and-true pieces often leads to more creative outfits. Below, I’ve put together four office-ready navy blazer looks that have plenty of personality.
Outfit #1
Navy Base + Black and Gold Accents

Pairing black and navy together instantly makes you look sophisticated, chic, and even, dare I say, Parisian. The navy of this twirly skirt is lighter than that of the Yiyan blazer, which keeps this outfit from feeling overly formal and suit-like. Pair it with sleek black knit boots and a belt (worn on top of the blazer at your waist), plus a gold chain necklace and simple hoops.
Outfit #2
Navy Blazer + Colorful Cardigan + Pleated Pants

The cardigan-as-shirt trend is going absolutely nowhere in 2025 (nor should it). Introduce some refreshing brightness to your look by layering this lightweight merino-wool cardigan underneath the Yiyan blazer (unbuttoned). Slouchy pleated trousers lend a sculptural element, plus, this pair features tiny blue and orange flecks throughout the fabric that match back to the color of the cardigan. Finish the outfit with crisp white sneakers and bold silver hoops.
Outfit #3
Navy Blazer + Pop of Print + White Jeans

This one’s a fun twist on a classic preppy look. Instead of a seersucker blazer, go for wool twill, and trade the chinos for wide-leg white jeans (<– this pair also happens to be stretchy). Add a breezy printed washable silk tank top to disrupt the nautical vibe, and bring in some unexpected color with these butter-yellow flats (I’m obsessed with this shade!).
Outfit #4
Navy Blazer + Striped Tee + Kick-Flare Pants

Here’s another fun play on a well-loved pairing: navy + stripes. Instead of the expected navy and white stripes, try pairing the Yiyan blazer with this long-sleeved tee, featuring bold ivory and brown stripes with subtle lines of light blue. Balance out these cool-toned shades with camel-colored kick-flare pants, cherry-red sneakers, and gold earrings.
