10 Outfits So Easy, You Can Get Dressed with Your Eyes Closed

When in doubt, remember that simple is never out.

By Emma Steinbergs

At M.M., we treat outfit-pairing like an art form. Our stylists work hard to dream up unexpected color pairings, varied texture combinations, impactful accessory additions, and sophisticated layers. But we know that not everyone obsesses over style the way we do. And whether you’re heading back into the office or finally filling out your social calendar, there’s a good chance you don’t have the energy (or desire) to construct ultra-creative outfits seven, or even five, days a week.

Some days, you probably prefer to spend mere minutes getting dressed. We’ve learned to appreciate these days, because they remind us that there is as much beauty in simplicity as there is in complexity. So, whether you’re too busy to even make your bed in the morning, or you’re just looking to live a little more minimally, we’re here to help you fall in love with streamlined style. Here are ten no-styling-needed outfits that are so easy, you can get dressed with your eyes closed and still look great.

1.

The Suit Dress

Thanks to its suiting-inspired design, the Cassandra dress easily stands on its own. With a buttoned front, defined hip pockets, and a smartly tailored silhouette, you get the power of a three-piece suit with the ease of one slip-on style.

2.

The Breezy Set

Meet Everyday Twill: our brand-new, lightweight Japanese fabric that’s easy, breezy, and available in four styles (the Hyo jacket, Annette top, Shane pant, and Adina short)—meaning you can build your own set depending on your formality and coverage preferences. Though I currently sit here in 28-degree weather, you can bet I’ll be snatching up a pair of the WFH-friendly Adina shorts on pay day.

3.

The Statement Pattern

Our checkered-knit Tippy dress not only creates visual impact without any accessories, but it also boasts subtly unique features like a lovely texture and elegant scoop neck. This dress is one of those pieces that keeps the compliments rolling in throughout the day, and we’re here for it.

4.

The Better Than Denim Duo

Our Better Than Denim fabric is a statement in and of itself, thanks to its unparalleled union of stretch and structure. Toss on the slightly cropped Anna jacket and the bootcut Archie jean for a cool combo that gives you legs for days with minimal effort.

5.

The Grown-Up Onesie

Utilitarian-chic is “in”—and we think it’s here to stay. So, we created the just-trendy-enough Carr jumpsuit: a one-and-done Power Casual piece for those who prefer pants over dresses, or who just want to look effortlessly chic and a little bit different.

6.

The Silk Stunner

An unembellished, solid-colored dress can be just as eye-catching as a glitzier style. Exhibit A: the Rashmeen dress. Made from high-quality 100% silk and featuring a refined, wrap-around tie, the Rashmeen is one of those elevated-yet-laid-back dresses that gives you the je ne sais quoi you admire in others.

7.

The Built-in Belt

Similar to the Rashmeen, the Kelsey dress features a built-in belt to top off the look without any additional accessorizing. The clean lines of the A-line hem and V-neck add understated elegance that allows you to skip the necklace and keep your footwear simple.

8.

The Subtly Special Silhouette

A set like the Rashida top plus the Shiloh pant is a fantastic option for easy dressing between seasons. The unique silhouettes of each separate—the Rashida’s slightly billowed sleeves and the Shiloh’s flared legs—work in tandem with our machine-washable ponte fabric for a special-yet-practical combination.

9.

The Timeless Investment

A tweed-esque suit never goes out of vogue—the look has been an emblem of good style for decades, with no end in sight. Grab the brand-new Krista skirt and Figari pullover, or pair the skirt with one of our matching Interweave jackets, the Lilia jacket or Porter jacket, for a wardrobe investment you won’t regret.

10.

The Shacket Uniform

It’s all in the name. Loosely inspired by work shirt-jackets, the Sierra shacket is a sleek, elevated take on a functional staple. Complete this Power Casual uniform with the matching Harrington legging, and switch things up with your underpinnings (try the Peggy top or Barbara sweater to start).
