One Shirt for 365 Days a Year

Plus, styling ideas for each season.

By Emma Steinbergs

I’ve worked at M.M. for a hot minute, and over the course of my almost eight-year tenure, I’ve witnessed our design team iterate on countless customer favorites. To be sure, we never stop dreaming up novel silhouettes, but we’re equally passionate about turning your feedback into a reality. Your pleas for a more petite-friendly version of our Yiyan blazer? They inspired the Yasmine. And how about all those requests for navy OrigamiTech? We heard you loud and clear; last fall, we finally delivered.

Most recently, we released a new version of our best-selling Peggy top, a true M.M. classic since 2018. Meet: the Alecia V-neck tank. As the name suggests, it features a more prominent “V” neckline (and back!) than its predecessor, resulting in a silhouette that’s distinctly sharp, elongating, and—dare I say—sexy. In terms of fabric, it’s that exact same Eco 365Knit you’ve come to know and love.

If you aren’t acquainted, 365Knit is one of our signature materials, thanks to its buttery softness and flattering drape. Its unique quality is difficult to comprehend without touching it for yourself, but it’s somewhere between a luxe T-shirt and a slinky sweater. This means that depending on how you style your 365Knits, you can wear them any day of the year (hence, “365”).

Below, see the Alecia tank in action—complete with styling ideas for every season.

Winter

We’re currently weathering a cold front here in NYC, so naturally, I have tundra-proof styling solutions on my mind. As previously mentioned, our 365Knit is super soft and substantial, which you’re never going to be mad about when it’s 12 degrees outside. In my opinion, however, the Alecia’s fit is what makes it especially cold-weather-conducive. It sits close to the body in a way that feels like a gentle hug and presents endless layering possibilities. For an easy winter outfit formula, layer it under your favorite blazer—preferably a knit one to keep your coziness level high—and tuck it into a pair of pleated trousers. Pro tip: Try wearing a pair of tights underneath your wide-leg trousers on exceedingly cold days. You’ll be infinitely warmer, and no one will be any the wiser.

Spring

When I think of spring dressing, I picture my brightest items emerging after four long months of hibernation, just begging to be seen. I’ve been more into statement bottoms than statement tops over the past couple of years, so for me, the Alecia tank will be a go-to canvas for having fun with color. Since its silhouette is a little bit revealing, I like to balance out my look by showing less skin on the bottom, as I’ve done here. I love the way the Eva skirt simultaneously elongates my silhouette and offers a generous splash of lilac. I rarely combine two disparate pops of color in one look, but if there’s ever a time, it’s the spring. Why not throw on a pair of on-trend red sneakers? On cooler days—or when I just want some extra coverage—I’ll add a cardigan that’s cropped and similar in tone in order to maintain the outfit’s overall palette and silhouette.

Summer

As a self-proclaimed klutz, I don’t often wear all white, but I’ll make exceptions for hot summer days and machine-washable staples. Last summer, I wore my beloved tusk Milo jeans with my ivory Sabine top on repeat, and come summer 2025, I plan to swap in my Alecia. Don’t worry that the whites don’t match exactly. In fact, I think the slightly differing shades add more depth and end up looking uniquely chic. To go all in on this crisp combination, I might accessorize with white mules (similar) and a pearl necklace (similar).

Fall

Fall is my favorite time to get dressed (oh, the layers!), and for the in-between weather that follows the dog days of summer, I can’t wait to wear my Alecia tank as a camisole under everything from breezy pullovers to sheer tops. Here, the Alecia provides ample coverage while also allowing plenty of skin to show underneath, highlighting the Brodie’s intricate knit. To make this look feel more fall-ready, I tucked both tops into the camel Bia pants, a double-pleated trouser we can’t seem to keep in stock! Nude flats (similar) elongate the legs, and gold jewelry adds warmth.
