Get the Most Out of 3 Pairs of Pants

Nine ways we’re styling our three favorite pants right now.

By Caitlin Abber

There’s a running joke at M.M. HQ that the quickest way to a woman’s heart is through her pants (hey—we’re all adults here!). But innuendo aside, we really do think that’s true. Regardless of our different body types or personal style, every single one of us has spent an inordinate amount of time looking for a really great pair of pants, so we know them the minute we find them: they’re the pants that are the right length, that don’t sag in the butt or crotch, and that aren’t restrictive or loose and shapeless by 2pm. They’re the pants we want to wear all day, every day—and we do, because they go with everything. Here are nine ways we love to style our three favorite pants right now.
1.

With Flair

Have you heard about our new Milo pants? They’re like jeans, but better. Better because they’re stretchy, they don’t break any dress codes, and they never, ever sag. We love pairing the wider leg with a wide sleeve to match, like the Ava top in citron, for a breezy, swingy, easy-as-Tuesday-morning vibe.

2.

Like Leggings

Are leggings pants? Technically yes, but your boss doesn’t always see it that way. The next best thing is absolutely a pair of the Hockleys. Pop on an oversized button down, or in this case, the Amber dress, and everybody wins.

3.

In a Cinch

The sleeker the pant, the higher the kicks. Under the Beebe-belted Bennett blazer, the Hockley pant creates a legs-for-days silhouette that even Audrey Hepburn would be jealous of.

4.

Cuffed Up

You’re a lady who can roll with the punches—get yourself some pants that can do the same. The Mejias have that suiting look and feel, but really shine when paired with stretch knits, like a double dose of the Emerson cardigan and a pair of sneakers. Roll up the cuff a bit and show a little ankle, because why not?

5.

Oversized Everywhere

The Milo pant is all about play. You can wear them to the office—but also to the park. Pair them with the Bennett blazer—and your favorite pair of sneakers. And don’t think you have to balance out their boldness with a fitted top (though the Choe top works too); go big or go home (where they’ll be just as comfy as sweats).

6.

Suited Up

Proof that a good pair of pants should do double duty? These Mejias are the same pair as the cuffed ones, only now they’re paired with our elegant Carmen jacket for well-suited look.

7.

Sexy but Subtle

While we’d pretty much die without our classic underpinnings, we are also huge fans of the blazer-with-nothing-underneath look. Of course, this vibe can be a bit much for the office, but it’s perfect for date night. Here, we paired a tucked-in Moreland jacket with the Milos, which make the look a little more work-friendly.

8.

Enthusiastically Elegant

You know that feeling when you just know you look good? Like all your jokes are landing, strangers are smiling at you, and you keep sneaking into the bathroom to take selfies? That’s what we call enthusiastically elegant (see: Meghan Markle). For this winner of an outfit, we paired the Mejia pant with the Blake shirt in Atlas and the strappy Ella shoes.

9.

Laid Back and Loving It

By far the best pants are the ones you can just kick back in and not think about. Throw on your Hockleys, your favorite sweater set (ours is the Spardel with the Nancy), a pair of Koio sneakers, and you’re ready for some serious vegging out.
